TitanFall – Pacific rim meets Transformers
Last night I was checking my email more than normal, waiting for the email everyone was waiting for, You’ve been selected for the Beta of TitanFall.
It was about 2:30am when I put my phone down; feeling defeated I went to sleep, I was awoken at around 6am to the sounds of my daughter crying after she’d seemed to have had a bad dream, After I’d sorted her out I checked my email and instantly became wide eyed; TitanFall was here, I immediately fired up the Xbox and lay back down until the game had installed.
Finally, The game was ready to play!. Like any gamer I skipped the tutorial at the start and got straight into some game-play, Attrition – aka TDM.
The first thing I noticed is the graphics, For a beta they were amazing and if they’re better in the final edition of the game then WOW!, Secondly the full on, in your face action, Take films such as Pacific Rim and Transformers and you wouldn’t be far from what you have here. Like I said Attrition is basically TDM and the matches can be over quite quickly, Or it just seems that way because I was having too much fun jumping around buildings and blowing people away.
Next, I tried HardPoint -aka Domination. This is once again full on, in your face action with all the same traits as mentioned before, But with the added objective of flag captures, I found myself playing objective only; Running around like a mad man trying to get all the flags at one time to win.
A lot of the time though you’d have a guy capping the flag guarded by someone in a titan, Which was quite difficult to attack.
The game-play is great, the player customization and unlocks are awesome too and the whole graphical aspect of it is truly amazing!.
I wanted to get into the beta so I could find out for myself what the game was like, Hopefully that would make my mind up whether to buy the full game or not!, I suggest you do the same, or try. It’s a great, great game but it’s an FPS and I do think in time it could get boring or stale.
I would say it IS a great game, Maybe not for hours of gaming though.
