Magdala Media Ltd is pleased to announced that the long-awaited Games Expo Scotland 2014 website has been unveiled for eager gamers to explore, ahead of the October event.
For those of you unaware of what GES 2014 is about, it is a new 2 day video game event for people of Scotland. During the 2 days, there will be showcases of a diverse range of games, a mixture of competitions, features, displays, retro games, presenter sessions, indie games and of course…… the most anticipated games for all platforms will be on show.
The event will take place on the 4th and 5th of October 2014 at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) , so there is plenty of time to start planning your trip.
Divided up into six distinct zones, Game Expo Scotland 2014 will be bursting at the seams with content that appeals to all gamers – no matter what their taste.
Greeting you as you enter the EICC, the Welcome Zone showcases a range of retro and arcade games that defined the world of gaming. It’ll also hold retail stalls and a few other surprises that’ll be confirmed shortly.
The Indie Zone will play host to a diverse range of Scottish and worldwide independent developers, all showing off their latest and greatest innovative and heartfelt labours of love. It’s the perfect place for anyone looking to see what’s next in the world of indie gaming.
There will also be the eSports Zone for those of us who love a good fight. Open to the public, this manic zone will play host to fighting game tournaments with a soon-to-be-confirmed title leading the way.
Hollywood Zone is the place to be to see the biggest name titles coming out for 2015 from the biggest publishers around.
There will also be Speaker Sessions taking place inside the Indie Zone. Here you can expect to see a packed program with a whole Spectrum (pun, intended), of international developers, publishers, journalists and more – providing plenty of Q&A sessions so gamers can speak to the guys right in the middle of the magic.
Finally, for those who love to get as close as possible to the characters they love, the Cosplay Zone will feature daily prizes to the best cosplayers. It’s the perfect chance for gamers to show off their best efforts from Hyrule, Spira, Tamriel and more. Or, if donning a costume isn’t their thing, come and have a look at those who do it right.
Magdala Media founder and GES 2014 creator, Rowan Mackie has said that:
“Having separate zones, each with a distinct flavour to them, really helps gamers get the most from Games Expo Scotland 2014,” said Magdala Media founder and GES 2014 creator Rowan Mackie. “Where else can gamers in Scotland come and get the best indie games alongside next year’s biggest releases? And each zone has something absolutely perfect for all types of gamers too.”
To accompany the launch of the site, ticket prices for the event, which are available to the public, will be on sale in Spring 2014. You can find more information about ticket prices and types of tickets available for the 2 day event HERE. Priority/Passes will go on sale first in April 2014, and are limited to 300 weekend passes and 180 day passes.
