There was once a time when the release of a new PlayStation console also heralded a new version of anti-gravity racing game; WipEout. Those days are now sadly long gone as is the same with series devloper Sony Liverpool.
With WipEout now seemingly forgotten there is a generation of Gamers that are now unformiliar with the likes of teams: FEISAR, AG Systems and Auricom. Likewise with the pulse-pounding techno beats that made up WipEout’s often stellar soundtrack.
This however is all changing thanks to the creation of a WipEout Supercar! Yes, an actual car!
Created by Biggs Automotive Company (BAC), the WipEout supercar is the first BAC Mono R supercar of its class. It features a FEISAR livery thats no synonymous with Sony’s anti-grav racer.
Nick Burcombe, WipEout Co-Creator and Eddie Wainwright, WipEout Graphic Designer both worked alongside the Liverpool-based car manufacturer in designing the supercar to maintain its authenticity with the WipEout brand.
The livery which is based on the FEISAR team graphics is made up of over 400 individual graphics. It’s a thing of pure beauty and really captivates the teams design.
From a technical standpoint the BAC MONO can reach speeds of up to 60mph within 2.5 seconds and is capable of reaching a top speed of 170mph. Whilst nothing in comparison to an anti-grav racer. It’s pretty impressive by modern standards.
The cost of the BAC MONO R will set you back close to £200,000. It’s obviously cheaper to buy a PlayStation 5 and pray for WipEout’s return.
