This review was posted by me on Gameinformer.com. I will  try and post these when games come out and I beat them this one was just posted before I made the account here but hope you enjoy look for more.

Gameplay: Over all Thief was a nice change to stealth games movement. The not killing people with melee was also a great change although it made it tough to get through this game. You could still do normal stealth things like hang back in the shadows and stay away from combat. I made you think about what you would do next, and had many ways to approach a situation. There were some glitches and such as running across some boards or to something Garate would randomly fall or not do what you wanted. This kind of killed the immersion but still didn’t matter unless it got you killed. The many side missions offered more ways to get money which the take whatever you want and be greedy part of the game made side missions fun to do. The upgrades were great, although you really wouldn’t see the effect of a lot of them until you got into a fight or randomly shot your bow. Also the collectables and puzzles add another layer to the gameplay. The game also does horror gameplay as there is a mission and some enemies make this possible. Overall the gameplay was great with a few glitches but I could get over them.

Graphics/Environment/Sound: The game looked great for last gen. The only thing not enjoyable about The City was it was small. What it had to offer though is a lot. This ranged from stores to side missions. The sound made for a creepy environment as the whole game is during the night time. The game does horror really well with this element. The only thing I have to complain is that during some cutseanes is the sound would slow down and sometimes fall behind what was going on.

Story: The story I felt was strong. Even with some repetitive parts I could get into the story. It was always awesome to find out what happens next. The only problem I had was that the cutscenes would get choppy so this kind of broke the immersion again. The ending seemed to end abruptly though, but without any spoilers it builds upon the possibility of another game or story DLC. Overall the story is good and very enjoyable you’ll always want to find out what happens next.

Overall: It comes down to what is in the core of the game. It has a great story and enjoyable gameplay. I would most likely recommend this game. It’s not the greatest game out there, but if you want something the most would enjoy then get Thief. You a bound to find something fun in this game. It is all up to you though if you can get over a few glitches and some what the freak moments though then get this game. I give this game an 8.75 as there are some glitches and  choppy parts.

My known glitches: This is just if you want to know nothing game breaking though so don’t worry.

>Running fast paced then randomly fall

>Running the wrong way

>Random guard seeing you when you not there (only happened once to me)

>Lock pick won’t turn (only have to exit out of lock picking the lock pick again)

>Choppy cutscene (such as sound would not catch up and movement slows down but doesn’t happen all the time)
