When games such as Guitar Hero and Rock Band were on the rise, there seemed to be a gap in the market for games that would actually teach you how to play instruments. When Rocksmith came along though there did seem to be a lot of negativity that it was not the same as playing a real guitar, when on the contrary an actual guitar would be your controller.
Rocksmith has emerged a few years later to be not just a computer game but a valuable learning tool as well for wannabe musicians, though why not? The game teaches you accurately how to play some of rocks most iconic songs and have fun while doing so, this can only be a good thing for people who cant afford weekly lessons or not confident enough to play guitar in front of other people. So it is part bedroom geek and part bedroom rock star.
With the latest iteration of the series we see next-gen (Xbox One) owners receiving bonus tracks exclusive to the new generation, which is an incentive to upgrade to the new console if you are a fan of the series. The exclusive track pack includes 12 Jimi Hendrix songs, but only for a limited time only.
So with the game already boasting 50 tracks to start, you can then chose from a selection of 500 tracks to download via the games store. With selection like this you are bound to find some classic songs to add to your very own library of song to play.
Rocksmith is available for Xbox One and Xbox 360 on November 7th.
