Quake-Con is an annual Bethesda event that normally happens in person each year in Dallas, Texas. Bethesda have just announced that this year’s event, like the last, will be digital. Covid uncertainty understandably having been cited as the main reason for this.

Digital Quake Con end of summer 2022!

Thankfully for fans though, we will be getting a Quake-Con in 2022 this August, from the 18th to the 20th! Bethesda are planning a whole host of “streams, online meetups, giveaways, charity opportunities and the virtual BYOC and more”. Super pleasing to see that this is going to happen, albeit digital. Good effort from the Bethesda team.

According to Bethesda they will announce more details come June. See the full announcement below:

Will this be when we see the Starfield ‘deep-dive’?

Quake Con is a Bethesda event. But since the acquisition of Bethesda by Xbox, we are not fully sure how they are going to (or if they are going to at all) align their events moving forward. Last year we had the Xbox & Bethesda summer showcase. Will we see an Xbox & Bethesda game showcase earlier in summer prior to the Quake Con? Or will Bethesda resume independent events? If we do, what should we expect to see? IF Redfall is still releasing summer 2022, we can expect them to drill down on Redfall surely, especially as this could be very close to the release… A labour day weekend launch would not be surprising.

It is a lot of fun to speculate with things that you are looking forward to, but it is still more likely that Starfield gameplay ‘deep-dive’ gets shown earlier in summer, with more information trickling out as we move closer to launch. Quake Con is very much a fan event, and while Bethesda do go big with Quake Con, a Starfield deep-dive may be a little bigger than a Quake Con… And you would think it would be too late for a Redfall game play showcase, that is if the summer 2022 release window holds. Bethesda have brought the fire to Quake Cons before… A lot to be excited for!
