Darksiders 2 was a fairly large game when it was first released back in 2012, that game series is a stylish blend of platform, puzzle and action adventure; Almost like a Zelda game in some qulities. The announcement of a HD remaster of the game was somewhat unexpected as the games publisher THQ went into liquidation a few years ago and the Intellectual Property was rumoured to have never been bought. Luckily the game did get picked up and has received a polish and some tweaks, now at the development helm is Gunfire Games and the publisher is Nordic Games.
If you have not played the first Darksiders game then I imagine you will be somewhat lacking in the story of this title. The original game follows the character of War and his wrongful imprisonment. The sequel has you play as Death and trying to unravel the mystery from another point in time and space.
The games a beautiful mix of twisted worlds and outstanding character design. Levels and dungeons are designed with puzzles in mind instead of being thrown in at the end. Although 2012 was not that long ago, the game has still benefited from the graphical touch up and now looks good enough to pass as a modern game title in its own right.
Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition is out for release October 27th on Xbox One
