DICE have released another perk for Player Appreciation Month. Player’s now have the option to download Weapon Shortcut Kits for free. They bundle numerous different weapons for the game and can be unlocked instantly, instead of taking the time to unlock every single one. These are only available for a limited time, and are a great way for new players to the game to catch up to those who have been playing since launch.
From now until the 24th, the Handgun Kit will be available to all players, while anyone with premium also gets the DMR Kit. The next batch will be Grenades for standard and Shotguns for Premium. This is available through the store menu on the console versions, and it’s easy enough to access.
This has happened before, though not for free, with a couple of previous Battlefield Games, and it does spark some debate within the community. It means that instead of just progressing through the game at their own rate, people get the guns they wish whnever they choose. Though this, for me personally, takes out some of the satisfaction of working towards unlocks, it means that some players don’t feel a grind getting to one specific weapon they like.
Either way, these are limited time offers, and there’s still Carbines, Personal Defense Weapons, Sniper Rifles, Light Machine Guns and Assault Rifles that will have to be unlocked normally.
