Today marks the release of Assassins Creed: Syndicate, this will shock nobody; yet might still excite some. Ubisoft have managed to release a yearly iteration of the flagship Assassins Creed franchise every year consecutively since 2009’s Assassins Creed 2. This is no small feat considering a lot of companies find it hard to release games year on year, only a few yearly instalments are successful, two of the biggest being Call of Duty and FIFA.

When Assassins Creed 3 rolled around fatigue had really started to settle in and I was not excited any more. Revelations had left an anti-climax of the Ezio’s storyline and had left me feeling bored of the series. So when I played 3 I found Connor to be a 2 dimensional boring character who had nowhere near the depth and complexity of his father Hathem Kenway.
The series reprisal had to be Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag (this opinion is not shared by all) where the pirates life was the way forward. Black flag was special because it was a pirate game that was not Assassins Creed till the very last kick of the ball.

Last years Assassins Creed: Unity was met with great deals of controversy as the game was obviously released as an incomplete build. The internet was awash of stories the Assassins Creed: Unity was riddled with bugs and issues. This was a massive blow for the franchise as this was the first current gen exclusive Assassins Creed title.

Today marks the chance for reprisal, now we see if Ubisoft have listened to fans or wither they still meet targets and deadlines regardless of games build quality.
The trailers for Syndicate have shown a great level of detail given to Victorian London and what there is for an Assassins to do. We have high hopes that the game series does not go down in flames but maybe wish that a 1 year hiatus will be given to let us have some breathing space from this series.

Ubisoft have 2 separate game launch trailers for Syndicate marking the brother and sister Assassin team used in the game. Time to get acquainted with Jacob and Evie Frye.
