With the world of gaming ever expanding we are seeing a growth in tournaments being set up for games and actually having them being played professionally is a welcome sight in my eyes. But it seems that the games that have professional players are quite limited and are also similar in game play but never the less are very popular, which is great for gaming as a whole, I think whether we like the games that have a big pro following should not matter and as gamers we should be happy with the growth as a community. But I cant help look at the games i play online and want/wish they had as big of a following as the heavyweights such as LoL and Dota. So why cant they?
Its a bit late for my beloved Gears of war to become professionally played now unfortunately, but my mind has very much played with the thought of it being played that way and I feel its a game as well suited for it as the heavyweights, the maps, combat and weapons would in itself have provided and easy platform for it to make the jump for it to be professionally played, but that’s just me getting desperate for a game I would have loved to have made that jump. I’ve gone through many games in my head and how/if they would work on a professional front and well personally I could see a bright future and I don’t see why it should be otherwise, With LoL and Dota really attracting an audience to their pro events I hope that the path doesn’t stay narrow for pro gaming and hope that the popularity of those games can expand peoples minds towards the games they play even if the person them self has no interest in playing that game professionally, would the thought of watching others play it at that high a level not interest you? It interests me and I would welcome a pro scene for the games I love to play. My thoughts for this could go on for longer, but mainly I feel it would be a great step for gaming.
These are just my thoughts on the matter, do you feel the same? and what games do you want in or feel could be a great addition to the pro scene?
