So what can we expect from 343 Industries at E3, and what do we know so far?
We know that ever since the last E3 we’ve been given a teaser trailer for “halo on Xbox one” and that our “journey” (whatever that is, and we’ll get to that in a minute) begins on Xbox One, in 2014:

But we know that Halo 5: Guardians isn’t going to be released until 2015, the difference between this “journey” and the actual release of Halo 5: Guardians was also touched upon on the “The Halo Journey” article written by Bonnie Ross, General Manager, 343 Industries posted May 16, 2014, which officially announced Halo 5 coming to Xbox one
“Your Journey Begins in 2014
Many fans noted that I was very deliberate with my phrasing on stage at E3 last year. I spoke about a “journey,” rather than a destination – and that journey definitely begins in 2014 with a giant leap, rather than one small step. We’ll give you much more information about our plans for this year at the Xbox E3 2014 Media Briefing on June 9, and we’re confident that “Halo” fans will be pretty excited about the special plans we have in store.”

So we know we’ll be hearing more about the next installment, but it definitely sounds like 343 is planning on unveiling something else that’s very big, but one can only speculate. One of those things may or may not be the rumored “Master Chief collection” that’s been buzzing around the web, I wonder who let that fish out of the net…
IGN seems to be pretty confident in this rumor/leak, and so does “Shinobi602,” a well known insider of the gaming industry who accurately predicted the Halo 5: Guardians announcement:

It also wouldn’t be too far fetched to say that we might see a little more about the Halo TV series that we’ve heard almost nothing about except that Steven Spielberg is the Executive Producer. It was announced May 21st of 2013 and is expected to come in the fall of 2015, apart from that though we don’t know much, hopefully that’ll change in a few days.
One other thing that seems to have slipped by everyone else’s radar is the mysterious Spartan Ops Series Season 2, its almost become a fabled legend. Where is it? Will we ever see it? Was it ever officially confirmed? Was it cancelled? Postponed!?
WHAT HAPPENED TO IT!?
Well I can tell you that it was never officially confirmed or guaranteed, so it wasn’t written in stone, but this is what Frankie O’Connor said about Spartan ops before Halo 4’s release in an interview:
“We have the Spartan Ops story mapped out, at least loosely, for a few years. The first season is very rigid at this point and we know where this story goes. If it’s successful, if people enjoy it, we have a narrative arc that can last for years, with a known beginning, a middle and an end.”

So far Spartan Ops has received mixed critism, but there is still hope, when Frankie was asked about the fabled season 2 after season one’s release he was very vague
“Will there be a second season of Spartan Ops?”
–deluca34
“There is no “Season 2” of Spartan Ops scheduled at the moment, but rest assured the story of Crimson, the Infinity and those characters and events is far from over.”
–Frank
I highlighted the “moment” in that quote because I think it is very important. Some people say that a second season of Spartan Ops is unlikely due to time and budget, I agree with the time part, partially, but not with the budget part. As it has already been stated, if we get a second season of Spartan Ops it won’t be free, so long as they charge for it I see no reason why they can’t make it financially, and the Master Chief collection has been rumored to be handled by another developer contracted by Microsoft and 343, which might give us the time factor as well.

What do you think? Will Spartan Ops season 2 be apart of our journey beginning on Xbox One? But Spartan Ops is on Halo 4 you say? If they port Halo 4 to the Xbox One like the rumors say then we could be seeing the second season on the new console. It would be a nice surprise to get some new content soon as well as the old games remastered, like a joint project between our possible mystery dev and 343. A perfect package I reckon, but again this is all just speculation, we’ll have to wait until E3 to know for sure what’s happening, could be something we’ve never suspected!
To sum up, this is what we can expect to hear about at E3 from most likely to least likely:
Halo 5: Guardians-Guaranteed
Halo TV series-likely
Master Chief Collection-possibility
Spartan Ops Season 2-unlikely but possible
Other unknown factor-also possible
