Microsoft reacted to NPD Group’s monthly report today with some seemingly good news. The Xbox One is outpacing the sales of the Xbox 360 in the US. Apparently, cumulatively, both consoles sold around 2.217 Million units in the US in January, making it the highest-selling platform of the month with almost half of the software market. Not only that, but five of the top games were available on the Xbox consoles.
Microsoft commented that consumers have been purchasing an average of 2.7 games per Xbox One console since launch, and it’s selling much faster than the 360 ever did in the first three months of it’s released. Some other interesting stats were also released, with an accumulated 2.6 Billion Gamerscore being collected by players, with 165 million achievements and 130 million clips from the Game DVR. So it sounds like Microsoft are very proud of their console, and it seems that there is reason to be, as people are clearly having fun with the console!
