Way, way, way back at E3 2016 …. which was over a month ago, we were given a glimpse of the new Xbox One S. This iteration of the current console will be 40% smaller than the existing Xbox One and will come “4K ready”.
Great news everyone, the release date for the Xbox One S has been confirmed as August 2nd this year, which means in just a couple of weeks time you will be able to get your hands on this sleek and sexy little console.

The “S” will do all the exact same things your current Xbox One is able to achieve, backwards compatibility is still a thing, you will still have a great Xbox Live experience with your friends and now you will be able to watch Blu Ray and Ultra HD (4K) videos.
Now the Ultra HD/4K ready is more about video content than actual gameplay, this can across as a little misleading as both Microsoft and Sony are guilty of this. Though at the same time, unless you have a 4K TV maybe this upgrade is not for you yet?
