Crackdown for Xbox one is making great progress, but will it show at E3?
Yesterday on Twitter Phil Spencer, head of Xbox was asked “will we see something about Crackdown at E3?
Spencer replied by saying ” Sorry, not announcing what games are where right now but Crackdown is making great progress.”
Crackdown for me was a great game and I have been looking out for news on this next gen title since it was announced last year. The game is currently being developed by Microsoft and an Edinburgh based company Cloudgine. As I have a keen interest in games development I would like to share my thought on what we could expect in the near future or E3 which is less than two weeks away.
The previous games were developed by Dundee based studio Ruffian Games, but the development of this one has been completely under the radar since it was announced last year. If Crackdown is “making great progress” we can only assume what Phil Spencer has seen has been great, and can hope to see some gameplay footage at E3 this year.
After last year’s E3 we found out that Microsoft are making it, and Glasgow based Axis Animation made the animation, but what is the Edinburgh based company Cloudgine and what are they doing with Crackdown?
So why involve Cloudgine? Cloud gaming? It’s already here!
Cloudgine is a company founded by industry experts and its aim is to make cloud gaming “The Next Big Thing”. The company is focus on implementing server based physics into games and have proven that what they can do looks great. As we know today, Cloudgine have only announced working on Crackdown as its first project, but as they have a partnership with Microsoft who knows what else they will be working on in the near future.
