The people behind ESPN’s extreme sports X Games have announced an exclusive partnership with Microsoft to unleash Halo 5 into X Games Aspen 2016 as part of the Halo World Championship Tour.
The 3 day competition will take place in the Gaming Shack inside the X Games Aspen village, with six teams from North America and two International teams battling it out to win exclusive X Games medals and $30,000 in prize money. Although the competition is linked to the Halo World Championship Tournament, competing in this specific game will not earn any of the teams points towards the regional finals.
The vice-president of X Games, Tim Reed says this about the partnership:
“We are thrilled to team with Xbox to feature the top gamers at X Games Aspen, Gaming plays a big role in the youth culture and the Halo World Championship Tour: X Games Aspen Invitational nicely complements the world-class action sports competition and musical elements at the X Games.”
