Budapest based developer NeocoreGames has today announced Warhammer 40k: Inquisitor – Martyr, an action RPG that they are developing alongside Warhammer creator Games Workshop.

Inquisitor- Martyr has been described by NeocoreGames as a “persistent sandbox action RPG” and says that the single player campaign will thrust players “into a grim and secret war among the stars as the agents of the ever vigilant Inquisition.” NeocoreGames has also promised that once the campaign has been concluded, the story will continue in a “colossal sandbox game” that the developer claims will give players years of constant entertainment, gradual development and a continuous flow of content that will enrich the action RPG gameplay.

The games producer Zoltan Pozsonyi had the following to say in a statement:

“There’s a reason why we chose the world of Warhammer 40,000: it’s intense, brutal, visceral – a perfect material for an action RPG,. Working with Games Workshop, we’re doing our best to bring a high quality game to the community. We’re huge fans as well, so we care deeply about this game.”

Hungarian studio NeocoereGames was founded back in 2005 and has developed several RPG’s including King Arthur and The Incredible Van Helsing.

The announcement doesn’t actually venture in to any real specifics, so not a great deal else is actually known about Warhammer 40k: Inquisitor- Martyr, all we do know is it is due for release in 2016 for Xbox One and all other major platforms. Check out the announcement trailer below.
