It feels like an eon has passed since I played Warhammer 40K and it looks like this summer we will have the chance to play a new title. Bandai Namco and Behaviour announced the development on Warhammer 40,000 Eternal Crusade. The title is aimed to release on Xbox One  and will allow a range of factions to be played in an online shooter. Here’s the official trailer below:

Early details suggest a squad based shooter, possibly similar to Gears of War aesthetically, with lots of customization options for a player to change their character. Players will have to work with their squads in PVP or PVE battles to ensure their sub-factions success. This makes me imagine handling the tabletop models and how you could complete customize each soldier.

Going off at a tangent, my favorite set was to customize models with other factions weapons and armour. The Chaos Marines became known as my ‘Scavenged’ unit. Therefore my hope is to see an online shooter with RPG elements of customization.

I for one am excited for this release. Customization within the history of Warhammer 40,000 is hugely expansive and I await the launch so I may charge into battle and cry “FOR THE EMPEROR!”
