Deep Silver today announced that the next instalment of the Sacred franchise, Sacred 3, will release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this Summer 2014.
The game takes place across the fantasy realms of Ancaria, where the players will need to and together in the hope of vanquishing the deadly tides of evil.
Remy van Leeuwen, Brand Manager of Deep Silver said:
“The paramount development goal for Sacred 3 has been to creae a seamless online and offline co-op experience. By creating a game built around the central concept of co-op gameply, we’re expanding the series to a new audience without compromising the rich lore and fantasy of the Sacred universe”.
The reveal trailer below sets the tone for redefined Arcade Hack ‘n’ Slash gameplay. This gameplay centres around a ‘drop-in, drop-out’ co-operative multiplayer for both offline (2 players) and online (4 players) play. I have always enjoyed the concept of picking up the controller, finding a friend’s game and then pressing start to join. It means that I don’t have to wait in lobbies, or rely on others to play online. I can simply decide to go solo or play co-operatively with a press of a button.
The game itself brings back fan favourites such as Seraphim, Ancarian, Khukhu and the Safiri. It also introduces a new character, Malakhim. Each character class features its own unique skills and weapons which can be upgraded to match the player’s very own combat style. This is another concept that I like when playing this genre of games.
As the players master the art of war, they will fight their way through enemy hordes and try to outshine their fellow companions on their way to become the greatest hero of all. The inclusion of mission stats and online leaderboards will continue to drive competition both locally and online.
