
Ubisoft announced a new partnership yesterday at the Sundance Film Festival with the production company SpectreVision (Founded by Actor Elijah Wood), with the intention of creating brand new virtual reality content.
SpectreVision CEO Lisa Whalen said “We’re thrilled to partner with an industry leader like Ubisoft to explore the innovative and burgeoning technology that is virtual reality,” going on to then praise Ubisoft’s great portfolio of past titles and expressing her excitement of working together with Ubisoft to create new and unique fictional experiences using VR Technology, “Together, we can tell an infinite number of unique stories in a bold and original new format.”
Vice President of Ubisoft Patrick Plourde while expressing his anticipation of working with SpectreVision, praised the company’s past work with the horror genre perhaps even slightly teasing a possible Horror VR experience: “Their expertise in the horror film genre is exciting for us as a developer of interactive entertainment and we’re looking forward to a collaboration that will ultimately offer fans an unforgettable virtual reality experience.”
The SpectreVision team will be collaborating with Ubsoft’s FunHouse Studio which is located in Montreal.
