So Titanfall has released, and those giant alien creatures that were teased in leak screenshots beforehand seem to be in the background and non-interactive, which is a little disappointing, but understandable. However, according to Respawn Entertainments Community Manager, Abbie Heppe, new downloadable content could explore the Frontier’s Aliens a little bit more.

The internet as a whole has been speculating at the purpose of these aliens since they were first seen in the digital artbook, and again when the screenshots mentioned appeared online, but there hasn’t been much use of them besides roaming around to make the levels seem a bit more interesting. What we DO know, is that Titanfall will receive three major pieces of content for purchase, with free content in-between the release of these.

Speaking to IGN, Heppe was asked about the new content including the aliens as threats, replying with: “We are going to have maps added, and we’re trying to give players as much of a varied look at things as we can so that is definitely a possibility.”

Speaking on other fronts, it seems that adding a new Titan is a mammoth task, with balancing being the key issue. Making sure each of the abilities work together and against the enemy players is a huge undertaking, supposedly having purely the Atlas titan seen in the beta for a long time before the Ogre and Stryder were added, just to make sure everything was a-okay.

There will be new maps, though nothing is concrete right now. By the sounds of it, expect a LOT of new content for Titanfall in the future, which should do well in keeping the game lively for a long time coming.
