

For those who haven’t been following, but Friday was the start of the Call of Duty Championships in Los Angeles. The most skilled Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer teams from around the world have competed head-to-head on the Xbox One console for the COD World Champion title and a share of the $1 million prize money. Fans were able to watch the final match which took place today at 10pm GMT from their Xbox Live Dashboard.
There was a total of 31 teams from six continents, that have trained extensively over the past few months, by winning their regional qualifying events conducted by the professional competitive gaming organisations. Which include the Major League Gaming, Gfinity and the Austrailian Cyber League. Teams that were competing included:
- EnVyUs from North America
- NSP from South Korea
- Strictly Business from NA
- Brazil 5 Star from Brazil
- TCM Gaming from the UK
- CompLexity from NA
Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing, Inc., adds:
“The global popularity of Call of Duty continues. Last year alone fans logged over 5 billion hours playing Call of Duty and now it’s time to see who’s the best of the best. The Call of Duty Championship is a celebration of Call of Duty, featuring a tailor made livestream for fans to experience and enjoy all the action in real-time. Last year’s finals came down to the final moments of the final match and we can’t wait to see how it all unfolds this year.”
