Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it’s the Falconeer!

Created by Solo Dev Tomas Sala.

This game caught my eye multiple times first of which for its beautiful artistic style which just drew my eyes in, I had to learn more. Secondly, it reminded me of the good days of old of a loved by many title by the name of Panzer Dragoon. It brought many memories of on rail shooters. I was delighted to receive a review copy.

Tomas has crafted a beautiful and intriguing world of strife full of lore and action to suit all your needs. Many a time did I just stop to take in the beauty of my surroundings. You and your beastly compadre are elegantly animated and soar through the sky with bliss and fury. Playing on the Xbox Series X brought it to full tilt of on rail shooter magnificence. I truly had a great time playing as my custom made Falconeer.

The game has done plenty of good but there is also plenty of bad to be found. I found a lot of the voice over work not delivered properly. No life to be found in a majority of your run of the mill service men/women. Which I quickly ended up wanting to skip dialogue and get on with the soaring action as it all was delivered very dull and with no vigor.

Upon initially starting the game, when you are first training and learning the controls of the game. I encountered three crashes, which frustrated me so that I eventually took a break for a day or two. Alas, I was finally able to jump in and enjoy what the falconeer had to offer. The upgrade system especially the speed upgrades were a welcomed addition.

I unfortunately did not care for the story but I had an absolute blast with the game. My biggest congratulations to Tomas on bringing a game like this to life. I truly look forward to seeing what he brings to the table on his next adventure which I surely will be watching with an falcons eye. If you want a great game your kids can play or simply want a break from all the grim and serious games out there, the falconeer is for you.
