It’s now been almost a year since the now current-gen hit the shelves, sparking the great resolution flame war of 2014. But, in the before time, it was mentioned that Ubisoft would be publishing an open-world driving game. This game was called The Crew, and despite a showing at E3 2013, The Crew would be pushed back, as it needed a little more time.

Today, the game seems on the way to a 2014 release. The game will be up against Sony’s Driveclub, as well as Forza Horizon 2. With competitors that have been established by reputation, The Crew will be bringing more customization options to the forefront, allowing players to choose their own vehicles, tires, paint, and even after market touches. On top of that: players will also have access to different tuning specs for each car:

Full Stock: Your car is the same as if it were still at the dealership.

Street Spec: The car now features more of the dealership options, plus your own improvements.

Dirt: Adds a rally cross touch to the vehicle, adding a crash cage, all wheel drive, and the rest of the staples of the sport.

Raid: The car has a full crash cage for the chassis, bull bars, skid plates and an uprated transmission.

Performance: Choc-full of after market touches, the performance spec earns the title for a reason.

Circuit: Vehicles meeting this spec will have a lower ride height, as well as pro tuning.
