A games atmosphere can be made or ruined within seconds, first impressions count a lot in the computer games industry. When indie games showcase they seem to go through a much understated reveal than bigger triple A titles, though the first trailer for The Church of Darkness is anything but ordinary.
The game follows the story of Rebecca and Isaac Walker that lead their people to the jungles of south America to escape the oppressive and judgemental injustice in the US.
This action infiltration game is set in the 1970’s and certainly seems to follow a different tone from anything else I am able to put my finger on at the moment. The time setting along with the radical religious belief seems to be a pairing for something extremely interesting and is one to watch.
The game is scheduled for a 2017 release on PC and Consoles, so expect to be kept updated when developments unfold.
