There’s been a lot of talk online about how iffy the Star Wars Battlefront reboot from DICE is. If you’ve been on the fence yourself but don’t want to shell out the full price for admission on November 17th, you’re in a bit of luck.
EA and DICE have announced that the Beta for Battlefront will be open to all, and will star some time in early October. The beta will include both offline and online modes, with co-op and split-screen available. In terms of modes, the Walker Assault on Hoth that we’ve seen from the Alpha and at E3 will be playable, as well as a mode called Drop Zone which takes place on the planet Sullest.
The final date will be announced soon, as the developers are still locking in the final details about it. You won’t need to have pre-ordered the game to get into this open beta, and it’s available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, so if you’re wanting to try it out on all 3 (if you have all of them, that is) then you’re able to.
Star Wars Battlefront will be the first AAA game to tie into the new Star Wars canon, with a free downloadable level set before The Force Awakens. It’s available on November 17th, just a month before The Force Awakens opens in cinemas.
