In a recent trailer, kids explained what they love about the game and why making “silly wishes” leads to this exciting adventure.
THQ Nordic, the developer behind the game, described it as “feeling like a video game and a movie combined.” Players will be able to unlock classic and new platforming skills like the Fishhook Swing and Karate Kick, and don over 30 F.U.N.tastic costumes like SnailBob and SpongeGar. They will also be able to travel to 7 distinct Wishworlds like Wild West Jellyfish Fields and Halloween Rock Bottom.
But that’s not all, fans of the beloved animated series will be excited to hear that the game features all the buddy movie banter with SpongeBob’s permanent companion Balloon-Patrick and will also include appearances from all the favorite Bikini Bottomites from the series, voiced by their original actors. The in-game soundtrack will also feature 101 songs from the series, including the iconic “Sweet Victory.”
The game is available for pre-order now, with the Costume Pack included for free when pre-ordered. The Costume Pack will also be available for purchase on launch day at an SRP of € 9.99 / $ 9.99 / £ 7.99.
