In a bizarre twist of fate, we have a new announcement for DLC coming to Call of Duty: Ghosts, initially on Xbox Live and coming later to other platforms. The DLC in quetsion is a voice pack to change the commentator of multiplayer games. This pack in particular, being voiced by Snopp Dogg. No, this isn’t a joke. Yes, it’s extremely weird.

The DLC pack will be made avaialble on Xbox Live on the 22nd of April, and contains some quotes such as “Rack up points by reaching the enemy portal, you dig,” and “Homies out the joint, it’s party time.”

This is truly one of the weirdest pieces of DLC for a shooter I’ve personally seen. With announcers being able to be changed all the way back in the days of Unreal Tournament, it’s not necessarily a new thing, but is fairly new for being added in as DLC. Having celebrities doing it is also a bit out of left field, and having Snoop Dogg voice it is both hilarious and interesting, with Snoop Dogg (or Snopp Lionn? What’s he going by these days?) saying “What interested me most about the project is my voice can be connected with a game that’s so hip and so hood.”

So, there you have it. Some new DLC that isn’t new maps, new weapons or a new gamemode. It’s Snoop Dogg speaking to you. It makes me wonder who Call of Duty and Activision are trying to appeal to, and it’ll be interesting to see if they have anyone else in the line-up to give their own announcements in the future. Who else could they get that you’d want to commentate on your accomplishments?

Hit up below for a video of Snoop in action, though you’ll need an account to view it as the content has been marked as inappropriate for young audiences, to no ones surprise.
