Last year, the announcement that the free-to-play MOBA-esque game, Smite, would be coming to Xbox One. Smite is unique in that all characters in the game are Gods from myths and legends, so a lot of them should be recognizable. From Thor, to a myriad to Egyptian gods, there’s a ton there for anyone who’s got a passing interest to try out. The other major unique mechanic in the ever growing MOBA genre is the fact that the game is locked to third person, rather than being a semi real time strategy view. This means that it plays very differently, and is something very fresh for anyone who’s played similar games.
Smite is one of the few games in this new genre to hit the consoles, and it’s just announced that a Beta will be happening very soon, which anyone can sign up for at this link. It’s worth a try, and since the game is going to be free when it’s released anyway, there’s no reason not to at least give it a shot and see if it’s something that you’re into.
