Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse from Revolution Software finally makes its way onto console today. Many will know Broken Sword is a series that dates back to 1996 when the first game The Shadow of Templars was released. Dormant for some time, there was no assurance that the point and click adventure game franchise was as popular as it had once been but when a Kickstarter campaign was launched to help fun a new iteration of the series in Broken Sword 5, the community responded fervently to push the campaign past its goal in just 13 days. Last year it came to PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android and PS Vita but now PS4 and Xbox One owners can experience its adventure too.
Eclipse Game’s Super Toy Cars steers onto Xbox One today. You may know Eclipse Games for twin-stick shooter Tachyon Project, for which you can read my review here, but this an entirely different project for the studio. Super Toy Cars is rather self explanatory, its a micro-car racing game with up to four player local multiplayer.
Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart from Artifex Mundi, which received very positive reviews when it debuted on Steam in 2012, is out on Xbox One today. Nightmares is a Hidden Object game that takes place in during a trip through the ghost ship haunting the seas of the Caribbean and involves the player solving a variety of puzzles, including Mahjong puzzles!
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons from Starbreeze Studios got a next generation makeover when it came to Xbox One and PS4 via the Xbox Games Store and PlayStation Network last month but if you prefer a physical copy of Starbreeze Studio’s adventure game then today you can pick up a disc from retail stores if you’re in Europe.
