For those excited to see what games they can pick up for free every month with their Gold Subscription, here are your games for September.
For the Xbox One, you can continue to pick up Crimson Dragon for free. This spiritual successor to the Panser Dragoon franchise is a fun on rails shooter where you ride a dragon and, well, shoot stuff. The new game this month however is Super Time Force, which replaces last months Strike Suit Zero. Super Time Force is credited by the developers as what would happen if Braid and Contra had a party. A shooter with time manipulation does sound very interesting. These games are available for the entire month of September.
For those still playing their Xbox 360, you’ll be able to grab Monaco: What’s Yours Is Mine, a co-op Stealth game that’s great for sitting on the coach with some of your friends while you work together to complete objectives sneakily. This will be available from September 1st to September 15th. When the day strikes the 16th, you’ll be able to grab Halo: Reach (personally one of my favourite Halo games in the franchise) for free! Reach is the prequel to the original Halo, and allows you to create your own Spartan to follow through the campaign. With an upgraded Firefight mode from Halo 3: ODST and a great multiplayer addition (including Invasion, which is a fantastic gametype) Halo: Reach is the final Halo title from original developers Bungie. You can grab it from the 16th to the 30th of September.
So there you have it, some good indie games here and a Halo game for good measure. Keep in mind, Halo: Reach does not come with the Master Chief Collection, so if you were hoping to get all classic Halo games for your Xbox One, you’re not quite in luck. Though getting it completely free isn’t that bad of a deal.
