E3 2015 saw some interesting title announcements, none more so than Rare and there title, Sea of Thieves, an open world, co-operative pirate game where you can join forces with friends to sail the seas uncovering riches in a world populated by other players.
The game offers something not quite seen before, an open world experience where the threats of the world are shared among all players, in a world designed for players to help one another, set roles for your ship keep you and friends busy as you hunt for treasures, artefacts and glory. Teaming up with others, you can set your own goals, taking on quests, exploration and seeking conflict. Its you and your crew against the world, where no other player can be trusted around your riches.
This Weekend Sea of Thieves, which has been deep within Technical Alpha phase since last December received update 0.1.1 Taming New Seas. 0.1.1: introduces elements that change the way players experience the game: gravity, voyage system implementation, new regions and islands, and maniacal gun-toting skeletons as a few examples. This is on top of there original 0.1.0 Update, The Quest for Gold, which implemented match making and new tools.
Rare seems to be moving alone with the game rather well and i have to say, this is one of the games i’m very much looking forward to getting on board with.
