
Ubisoft have officially announced their ‘Year One‘ plan for the highly anticipated Tom Clancy’s The Division. The open-world RPG set in a highly detailed New York allows players huge amounts of freedom to save what little is left of humanity in this always-online extravaganza. Play directly with your friends in the deadly ‘Dark Zones’, fighting with – or against each other to win valuable loot and weapons.
From Launch onwards their will be frequent daily and weekly missions available in both storyline and end-game modes, as well as special dark zone events. There are two large updates planned through the year which will add new features and functionality to the game:
- Incursions – In April, the first incursion game match will launch for people who have completed the main campaign. The squad centred gameplay will pit you and your team mates against impossible odds and enemies in a quest for powerful weapons and equipment. It will also introduce loot trading for players in the same team to trade collected equipment and weapons.
- Conflict – In May there will be a an update to the features of the Dark Zones in the game as well as a second Incursion zone added to the Columbus Circle map.

The paid DLC for the game has three main expansions planned, all of which are available to people who purchase the Season Pass or the Gold/Sleeper Agent editions of the game:
- Underground – From June, players will be able to travel through the dangerous underworld of New York City. Subway lines, sewers and underground caverns will hide all new loot and powerful enemies for players to chase after with three of their friends.
- Survival – During the summer, players will be dumped in a hostile environment with limited supplies with the quest to stay alive as long as possible.
- Last Stand – In Winter a new threat will arise and you and your friends will have to prepare to defend yourself against this relentless foe.
