Last week I wrote an article on Outward, an fantasy-adventure RPG that is coming to Xbox One in March. You can read my original article by clicking the link here.
Today the developer of Outward, Nine Dots have released a new developer diary video that shows how the games travel system works as well as more of a look into the world of Aurai.
The inventory system in Outward is not limitless. With this it seems that what backpack we choose is going to play a big part in how we travel. The big dilemma that we will have is do we travel light and hunt for materials on the way or do we take a bigger backpack and load up for the journey beforehand? Like I said in my previous article – Outward is not your typical RPG. A big focus of the game is its realism so apart from dealing with enemies we will have to survive the environment as well as our own hunger and thirst.
Additionally our map reading and navigation skills will be put to the test. The world of Aurai features four distinct areas where we can travel to and explore. However the game does not track locations for us; so we will have to rely on our own map, compass and recognition of local landmarks to navigate.
Outward is set for release on the 26th March. You can check out the games official website here.
