When we think of games to play with friends on the Xbox, many spring to mind. Of course, arguably one of the biggest in Minecraft. The creative block-filled world has so much to offer players, almost limitless potential for builds, adventures and things to do. There always seems to be an update in the works to help make the game better someway and which tries to incorporate some of the great updates from the PC vision of the game.

The latest big update is here now. So what’s so big about this one? Well for a start, it’s an update for not just Xbox but for PC on Windows 10, iOS and Android versions of the game with Nintendo Switch coming very soon. The update is called Better Together. It adds alot to the game from Stained glass, firework rockets which work with the Elytra, parrots and so much more.
The most important part of the update however is that players on any of the mentioned Minecraft types, iOS, Android, PC(windows 10) or Xbox can now all cross-play! No more barriers holding everyone back. Servers have now been implemented with tons of mini games, player worlds and communities to explore!

The part that might interest players however is the Realm option. For a small fee a player can become the owner of a ‘Realm‘ which they then own which is always online. The owner can then send out invites to friends and only those with the link can join in on the world. The biggest advantage to this is that the players on the white list can then access the world at any point even if the owner isn’t online and continue to work and play in the world. This opens up the opportunity for lets plays similar to Hermitcraft on Youtube as well as simply allowing people to work together on huge projects without everyone having to be online.
