2011 was the year the Deus Ex delivered a prequel to its 2000 cut classic, Human Revolution was set 25 years prior to the events of the original game and put you in the role of Adam Jensen. The is based round the idea of robotic prosthetics used to augment human beings to be something more than human. Adam Jensen gets caught up in an explosion at the beginning of the of Human Revolution and becomes some Darth Vadar being who is more machine than man, yet he does not ever forget what it is like to be human. Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a game that I hold in such high regard, it delivers a great story and options on how to tackle the environment from different perspectives, as well as tackling the moral and ethical dilemma of augmenting humans past their natural state.
on 7th of April 2015 web publication gameinformer.com got an exclusive reveal of the sequel to Human Revolution in which we still get to control the iconic character of Adam Jensen.
With the iconic soundtrack of Human Revolution playing away in the background it is difficult to not get swept up in the cyberpunk thriller that had me excited with anticipation only 4 years ago. With the orange and black colour palate and the enigmatic character of Jensen creating such a in depth story to follow down this incredibly stylised rabbit hole, it will be another hype train for me to follow until the games release.
So far we know the game will be following the aftermath of Human Revolution and that Adam is trying to cope with decision that were made and how it has affected the world.
With gameinformer.com running a full month of exclusive announcements about the game, it will be interesting to follow this to the end and see what the game is offering. After conversing with friends before writing this article one friend is only excited if “you can still throw vending machines at people”.
