As if the new upcoming John Wick movie Parabellum isn’t enough to get excited about, Good Shepherd Entertainment and Lionsgate have just announced a new game based on the critically acclaimed film franchise.

John Wick Hex is a fast-paced action-oriented strategy game from acclaimed game director Mike Bithell that allows you to play not only as John Wick, but like John Wick. The creative and stunt teams behind the films worked carefully with the game’s developers to make sure that the gun-fu fighting style that John uses was transferred to the game. Fans of the films will also be happy to hear that some of the original cast are also present, adding to the immersion into the John Wick universe. Ian McShane (Winston) and Lance Reddick (Hotel Manager) are currently confirmed with more to follow.

John Wick Hex looks beautiful with it’s graphic noir art design

Every move and action you take in John Wick Hex has to be precisely thought-out, along with all the consequences that come with them. From the screenshots it looks like there will be a points system, so you will have to think carefully about how to proceed through each fight. Something else that will make you plan your moves carefully is that ammo is finite in this game. This will make sure that you pay attention to your ammo reserves, when to shoot, time your reloads and scavenge weapons where and when you can.

Take note of the combat sytem here, with options on the right and their cost, with some kind of timeline at the top

The story mode has been created to complement the John Wick universe, but has it’s own story arc. As you progress though the story mode you will unlock new weapons and suit options, both of which will change what tactics you will use and therefore make the combat through the game varied and engaging.
