On June 22nd Creative Assembly announced and dropped the trailer for their upcoming game, HYENAS, a new multiplayer sci-fi FPS. HYENAS sees players team up to steal priceless pop culture loot from the Mars billionaires and rival crews.
What is HYENAS?
In HYENAS the world is “broken“. Quite literally broken too! Advancing the endeavours of some of today’s billionaires, the billionaires in HYENAS have finally made it to Mars, leaving Earth and those pesky tax bills in their contrails. Unfortunately for the rest of us, the technology that powers their zero-gravity tech, and their journey in general has “shattered” our Planet. Earth is now nothing but a drifting slum called the ‘Taint’.. Disregarding the rest of us, the rich now only care for looting rare Merch and pop culture swag from the rubble to furnish their Martian mansions.
No more! In HYENAS, it is time for us to steal it back! With your crew of uniquely skilled HYENAS, board the spaceship shopping malls known as Plunderships, plump with nostalgic booty stolen from Earth’s remains. But watch out, as they are heavily guarded with hired thugs, alarm systems and armed drones that only the hyper-rich can afford. Steal back what has been stolen and hightail it out of there!
Plundership is a sandbox playground of interlocking systems creating endless opportunities for you and your rival teams to exploit the environment, security networks, hired goons to gain an edge. A combination of blisteringly quick movement and lethal combat in hazardous, and often switchable, zero-G zones, will provide players with dramatic opportunities to master the interchangeable environment to trap and eliminate other crews.
