As those who are eagerly anticipating the release of this game will know, Thief is launching next week (25 February) in North America and 28 February in Europe. As such, Square Enix and Eidos Montreal have released a Thief launch trailer to celebrate that Garrett, The Master Thief, is almost ready to step from the shadows.

The trailer is exciting, compelling and intriguing. Not only does it vaguely explain why Garrett has returned (he lost his memory and is trying to regain it), it also shows the various side quests that I mentioned earlier today HERE. In addition, it shows glimpses of new sections of gameplay and some key encounters that lie in wait for Garrett.

However, the more the trailer goes on, the more I realise that you are not only a Thief but an Assassin. You are in the shadows to remain undetected while stealing people’s possessions, yet you kill people as you go along. I am guessing that you can decide to either kill or remain unseen, or even have a mixture of both, but doesn’t every ‘stealth’ game give that option?

Now, I am not saying that I won’t buy this game. It seems like an exciting game. I just hope that the story is as compelling as the trailer makes it out to be.

Thief launches on 25 February in North America, 27 February in Australia and 28 February in Europe. It is available on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and PC.
