
Today 343 Industries have announced a brand new five-chapter mini-series featuring the brand new big bad boss of the Halo universe, Atriox. The partnership is with Dark Horse Comics, and looks into Atriox’s past and his rise to power. Each part of the series will be written by different known comic creators. These include Cullen Bunn, who is known for Conan the Slayer. Jody Houser, who is known for the X-Files: Origins. John Jackson Miller, who is known for Halo: Tales from Slipspace. Alex Irvine, who is known for Hellstorm: Son of Satan. Claire Roe, who is known for Batgirl and the Birds of Prey. Josan Gonzalez, who is known for Weird Detective. Jonathan Wayshak, who is known for Call of Duty: Zombies, and finally Tristan Jones, who is known for Aliens: Defiance.

The first issue features Atriox, while still a member of the Covenant, leading his team of Brutes in an all-out assault on a UNSC outpost. With each successive installment revealing more and more about his rise to power and eventual leadership over his faction, the Banished. The first issue of Halo: Rise of Atriox goes on sale August 2nd 2017, and can be pre-ordered here.
