Hello once again. It is I, Jordan, back again for the 3rd and final Q&A of the week. This final Q&A features Rhys. A Halo fan that takes his time to run a YouTube channel featuring plenty of awesome Halo related content, as well as being an admin on a Halo Facebook page too. For those who are unsure, after this Q&A is finished, they will move to a monthly schedule. The 2nd Saturday of the month shall be the set Q&A day, so for those who are Halo mad and like to get involved in the community, feel free to send me a message if you’re interested in getting involved. Anyways, lets get this started.
Q: For those who don’t know, what is your YouTube channel, and what Halo related content does it post?
A: I work on the team at “Sci Fi Gamer” and as the name implies “Sci Fi”, we are considerably more active on Halo than any other game. We share footage of new Trailers, our comments and theories on the latest news. We share footage of our custom game nights, and do a small forge showcase. We have recently started up a new segment that has a extreme makeover feel on maps that are submitted to us to “Remaster/Remix for them”.
Q: What made you want to create your YouTube channel?
A: I am not the owner of the channel, but I have been in the background of the early days of it.But I have always wanted to make or even just help make the content, just for fun really is what I’m getting at. Showing people what we do.
Q: Is there anything specific that drove you into liking forge related content?
A: I’m a bit of creative soul. I loved my Lego as a kid, and I love to make houses out of my waffles, but putting that creativity into forge? Well that’s just my way of expressing myself. So my answer is that the possibilities of forge are only limited to your mind, you can be so creative, and that’s what really pulls me in.
Q: Since you first had an interest in Halo, what’s the best forge creation you’ve ever seen?
A: Best forge creation? I honestly cannot say, there are so many creations out there, I couldn’t be biased to just one.
Q: If you had to create new content for Halo that you’d never done before, what would it be and why?
A: It would have to be an RPG style halo game, maybe like ODST based? Or how you get those flash games or indie games, have something going back to the forerunners. They did things different with Spartan Assault and Halo wars so they could make something different for sure. Even if it was a telltale production, you know the guys that did the walking dead telltale. I’d also like to create firefight maps, create the map, choose where the enemy spawns and they’re characteristics and ect, ect. But hopefully Halo 6 aye.
Q: What would you say to those wanting to make video game related youtube channels?
A: Be patient, sometimes you get lucky, but it does take time. Create the content because you enjoy it, be original and don’t expect things to fall into place, make fall into place by working hard and showing people what you love to do.
Q: Aside from youtube, is there any other community related things you’ve been involved with?
A: I have been an Admin on the Facebook page “We are Helljumpers” for a few years now, but I can’t say there is anything else worth mentioning.
Q: If you could create your own perfect Halo map, what type would it be, and what style would it have?
A: that would have to be a large scale infection map, with unlimited amount of resources to make such a map, and as for the style? Well it would have to be some sort of pipes and tunnel map, trying to get away from the infection and get to an evacuation point and hold off until a ride comes along.
