New ideas in triple-A development of games are always heartwarming to see. One that has seemingly snuck under the radar is Greedfall. Greedfall, by Focus Home Interactive, looks to be a 17th century RPG but with heavy elements of fantasy and magic. Check out the reveal trailer below
My first thoughts reminded me of Assassins Creed Black Flag from the uniform of the soldier. He looks to be chasing a druid/spriggan and hunting them. It’s at this point a great big Fiend looking thing (Witcher 3 reference) comes hurtling out at the 17th-century soldier. We then see a stand-off with another soldier watching on. At this moment in time, it’s all left to speculation, how RPG is Greedfall? Are we a soldier? Are we a magic thing? Are we a bit of both? If we are the latter, I really hope there isn’t a morality change in the story because of some MacGuffin that makes out character change allegiance.
Anywho, I’ll hold off with the ever-lasting amount of ideas of what it could be until they reveal a gameplay trailer. It looks gorgeous and the setting is something different to triple-A development. I will be following this title, hopeful it does not end up like Scalebound.
