We’ve got two big releases this week and both happen to be released today! Let’s crack on.

Overwatch – Dev & Pub: Blizzard Entertainment – 24 May

First up is the first person, multiplayer shooter Overwatch. Some of you will be familiar with this if you were lucky enough to take part in the beta a few weeks ago.

If you didn’t manage to jump into the beta now’s your chance to play Overwatch in all its shooty goodness.

There are 4 modes in Overwatch for you get stuck into:

* Assault: The attacking group are to capture two target points while the defending team defend and attempt to stop them.
* Escort: The attacking team need to escort a payload to a specified delivery point before the time runs out while, again, the defending team attempt to stop them. The payload vehicle moves along a fixed route and will only move when an attacking player is close enough. (Probably best Blizzard stuck to attacking team rather than calling them all escorts!)
* Assault/Escort: Basically a mix of the above except the attacking team needs to capture the payload before they can escort it to the destination.
* Control: Basically a capture the flag mode with each team attempting to control an area until it reaches 100%. This mode is played in a best of three format.

You also have 4 character types: Offense, Defence, Support & Tank. These are pretty self-explanatory terms so I don’t need to go into too much detail.

Overwatch is out today right now so go pick a copy if shooting over the top, colourful characters is your thing.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan – Dev: Platinum Games, Pub: Activision – 24 May

For those that aren’t a fan of first person shooters then Mutants in Manhattan may be more up your street. Or sewer if you’re of the hero in a half-shell variety.

Mutants in Manhattan is a third person hack ‘n’ slash action game that sees you take control of each of the 4 turtles, Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo & Raphael in case you’ve been living under a rock and don’t know who they are, to make your way through Manhattan and reaching each areas boss while being pitted against random enemies.

Each turtle has his own abilities, powers and fighting style as well their own ultimate ability. Leonardo, for example, can slow down time while Michelangelo performs cheerleading which will restore the other turtles’ cool downs of their abilities. Within the single player campaign you can switch between each of the turtles. Throughout Mutants in Manhattan you will come across green orbs, known as Battle Points, that you can use to upgrade abilities.

If you find yourself being overwhelmed and killed, and one of the other turtles doesn’t revive you in time, you will be sent back to the subterranean lair where a mini game will begin and you will have to eat pizza as quickly as you can.

Mutants in Manhattan also support four player online coop multiplayer.
