After a little break last week that saw the likes of One Piece: Burning Blood released, we’re now back on track with your releases for this week. There’s a couple that you will have heard and a couple of smaller games that might tickle your fancy once you have a little read of what they are about. Let’s make a start shall we?
Mirror’s Edge Catalyst -07/06/16
First up is the reboot of the 2008 Mirrors Edge, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst. Catalyst is a first-person open-world action-adventure platformer, developed by EA DICE and published by Electronic Arts, which focuses on Faith’s origin and follows her attempts to overthrow a totalitarian conglomerate of corporations who rule the city of Glass.
There will be some improvements compared to the original but as it’s a reboot this means that gamers unfamiliar with the original Mirror’s Edge or the reboot Catalyst shouldn’t have a problem in diving in headfirst and parkouring your way over building roofs or zip-lining between the buildings themselves.
You can find the trailer below.
Fenix Furia -08/06/16
Fenix Furia, previously titled Fenix Rage for the PC, will see its release on consoles this week where you will get the chance to try out this fast paced, reportedly quite difficult, 2-D platformer.
Brought to you by Green Lava Studios, the original PC version, Fenix Rage, had been compared to being a combination of Super Meat Boy & Flappy Bird so if you like those this may be up your street.
You can check out the trailer below
In Between – 08/06/16
Also releasing on the same day is In Between by Headup Games.
In Between is an atmospheric platformer where you’re tasked with solving mind bending puzzles by manipulating gravity and your surroundings.
The game takes on a very deep tone as you are invited to reflect on the life of the protagonist who is dying from cancer, while getting to know him and his story as well as his inevitable struggle for existence. This doesn’t come across as a happy go lucky game, so be prepared for that if you plan on giving this a try.
Again, you can find the trailer below.
Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter -10/06/16
Last up this week is none other than the latest game starring everyone’s favourite detective, Sherlock Holmes, in Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter developed by Frogwares and published by Bigben Interactive.
This is the eight installment in the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes series so far so if you have played previous games you should enjoy this latest tale.
For the uninitiated you’ll be expected to explore and gather clues as Sherlock Holmes, and along with his trusty sidekick Watson, gather enough clues and evidence to unravel a mysterious web of intrigue!
If playing as the great detective himself wasn’t enough to get you to think about picking up a copy, maybe the following trailer might help.
