Far Cry 3 was the last instalment of the franchise I played. Far Cry is well known for its gorgeous landscapes and brutal combat and the third instalment was no different. Far Cry 3 brought wild animals, a wing suit and many ways to fight off enemies. Then the developers brought thought they should make a standalone DLC.

Three years ago Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon came to Xbox 360 and I have memories watching my flatmate play through parts of the game. The cinematic visuals are reminiscent of a VHS video playing with blurry edges and constant frame issues. The jokes are cheesy and fast flowing, characters are totally insane it help build this title into a comedy shooter, the complete opposite of what Far Cry 3 tries to achieve.

And the best news, Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon arrives on Xbox One today through backwards compatibility. So if you bought it before you can replay the epic game that deserved a full title release. For me and many others, this is a chance to enjoy the comic cut scenes, ludicrous-yet-compelling story, riding giant Blood Dragons and whole load of profanity from protagonist Rex Colt.
