Last month we reported that Microsoft had plans to bring external storage support to the Xbox One (the original article can be found here) and it has recently been hinted that this highly-anticipated update is “coming soon”.

Coming soon isn’t exactly reassuring, nor does it give us a specific time frame, but it seems that Microsoft have been working on this for some time now and do intend on bringing external hard drive support to the Xbox One at some point in the near future. Currently sitting at a 500GB internal hard drive, the Xbox One already has a large capacity however with the quality and quantity of games being released, a larger capacity is necessary.

There is no mention of a storage cap on the external storage as of yet (the Xbox 360 is sitting at a cap of 32GB of external hard drive storage), and hopefully further details will be released with regard to the storage cap soon.
