Bethesda announced that the Elder Scrolls Online will be doing away with mandatory monthly subscription fees when it launches on consoles on June 9th 2015. The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited will be the title for this upcoming game. PC players of the ESO will receive this option as well as to ditch the monthly subscription service and instead pay a one-off payment for the game. This, for console players, will mean that they will not be having to pay a subscription for the game on top of their existing Xbox Live Gold membership. This will swing a lot of opinions back towards the game as asking to fork out two monthly subscriptions is a massive ask for some gamers.
For the first time in console history, get ready to explore the land of Tamriel not just on a massive scale, but with your friends as well. Get ready to carry out Elder Scrolls fans’ wishes of many years and head out with your companions. So armour up and decide which race to go as and which army to join as you undertake an adventure that will surely swallow your social life whole.
In addition, Bethesda will offer ESO Plus™ to players who wish to pay a single monthly charge for a premium membership service, providing exclusive in-game bonuses, a monthly allotment of crowns to use in the store and access to all DLC game packs while a member. PC/Mac players with active subscriptions on 17th March will be automatically enrolled into ESO Plus and begin enjoying its membership privileges.
Elder Scrolls Online will be released on Xbox One 9th June 2015 and will require and Xbox Live Gold Membership to play.
