While playing games at this years EGX in Birmingham, I came across this stunningly beautiful point and click adventure title that drew me in. I am a massive fan of narrative driven games, most of my early gaming loves were Monkey Island and Broken Sword games, so a beautiful point and click adventure is right up my street. This is when I noticed 3 Minutes to Midnight, a title from indie developers Scarecrow Studios.
The game is lined up for Stream release at the moment with the opportunities of porting to console on the horizon at some point. Though any more time spent with the game in development can only be a good thing, as the stunning artwork and comedic theme work hand in hand together.
The game has a striking art style which I believe nobody could deny, with some of the wider landscape vistas being drawn in 8k definition, this results in a 4k definition still when zoomed in. The attention to detail for an indie studio is unreal, proving that there is some extremely talented bodies on board at Scarecrow Studios.
My love of point and click appears to not just be nostalgia, as more companies are moving towards to the genre, also returning franchises like Broken Sword releasing new entries in the series. Scarecrow Studios have all the insane puzzles, charming characters and talented team building the game. I am eagerly anticipating the release of this title just have more time with the charm, whit and frustration than comes with a new point and click adventure.
