Not long after the big 2.1.0 patch for Diablo 3 on consoles, Blizzard have announced that from October 10th at 12 am PDT until Friday October 17th 12 am PDT, players on all console versions will be receiving a bit of a buff in celebration. These buffs depend on whether you’re on the previous generation (which did not, and will not receive the 2.1.0 patch) or the new generation of consoles.

For those on Xbox 360, you can expect to get a hefty 100% bonus to experience gained. This effect stacks with other existing in-game bonuses including (and not limited to) the buffs provided by any items, shrines, or the Pools of Reflection, an addition to Reaper of Souls that increases XP gain for a certain amount of experience.

Xbox One users have a bit of a different buff, that isn’t any less beneficial. For the same limited time, the spawn of Treasure Goblins, those little scamps that drop a ton of gold and goodies if you kill them and can now leave portals to the Vault, have doubled. That means twice as many will appear, meaning twice of a chance to get into that Vault, which you can have a little peak at in the video I filmed below of my first time finding this new addition. Spoilers if anyone doesn’t want to see what the new environment is like, or the boss at the end of the Vault.

These are a great incentive to keep playing, level up new characters or just kit out some gear and money on those that you already have. I can imagine those hardcore players will have a great time getting that money together from the Vault. It’s great to see that Blizzard are dedicated to the console player base of Diablo just as much as they are with the PC versions, and it means that in the future we may have just as much content on our way as the PC version received during the original game’s release.

Though, it’s important to note, these buffs will only occur in the Ultimate Evil Edition of Diablo 3. So those who didn’t upgrade on their Xbox 360 won’t be able to see these benefits. Though, if you are still playing on the 360 and don’t currently have the Xbox One, you should really be considering the upgrade to the new version.
