Once again Destiny 2 fans are invited to pay tribute to fallen comrades and friends by taking part in the Festival of the Lost. This time it is hosted by Amanda Holiday who is on hand to offer bounties to complete in return for exclusive rewards, and of course – masks!
The festival begins from reset on 16th October and concludes on 6th November, so you have three weeks to collect those exclusive rewards. If you are brave enough you are invited to confront your Nightmares in the Haunted Forest, will you go it alone or with your fireteam?
There are plenty of activities to keep you occupied during the festival, with week one hosting the return of Lord Saladin to the Tower. His return brings some long-awaited updates and tweaks to the Iron Banner bounties and rewards system:
- Each bounty completion will now offer a powerful reward, and will unlock an item with curated perk rolls for purchase direct from Saladin
- Bounty objectives have been updated to the following:
o Lightbearer: Reduced Super kills to 20 from 25
o Iron in the Blood: Reduced match completions to 15 from 30
o Shine On: Reduced Orbs generated to 50 from 100
o Iron Victory: Reduced match wins to 7 from 10
o To Be Precise: Reduced precision kills to 50 from 100
o All in a Week’s Work: Reduced kills to 150 from 250
It’s always nice to know Bungie is still listening to it’s community. Not only have they made the Iron Banner changes but they have plenty more updates in the pipeline:
“Launching a game reveals what we did right and where we could have done better. With the first month of Forsaken behind us, we’re taking stock of what we’ve learned. Some of those learnings will manifest in game updates that we’re deploying in the very near future, but not every improvement can be made with code changes. We also want to make it less complicated for other Guardians to begin their journey in Forsaken.” – Cozmo
And they are backing that statement up starting today by adding in the previous 2 DLC expansions with the purchase of Forsaken. This will allow many more Guardians to get in the fight and start earning their place in the Dreaming City.
Bungie are also saying thank you to Veteran Guardians by giving away special rewards to those who played Forsaken prior to October 16. These rewards are as follows and are due to drop sometime in early December:
• Tiger Stripe shader
• Veterans nameplate emblem
• Knife trick exotic emote
• Coin flip exotic emote
• Consumables bundle – Fireteam medallions, boons, matterweaves
