The final DLC was announced today for FROM Software‘s powerhouse flagship Dark Souls series. The DLC titled The Ringed City once again leaves us far more perplexed and fuelled with questions rather than answers.
“The Ringed City is said to be at worlds end …” the strange statement is nothing new to fans of the series, though if you wish to become a Dark Souls lore enthusiast like VaatiVidya or The Ashen Hollow then lets try and figure out what it means.
The statement in the beginning of the trailer uses the phrase “at worlds end”, now does this refer to a map point or is it more a city that appears when the fire is at its weakest and the world is about to die? I say this because some of the scenery is reminiscent of the location in game for the final boss fight.
As a huge fan of the series I am saddened by the announcement of the final DLC, yet the team behind the game know what they are doing and hopefully leave the fans satisfied and able to answer so many questions that have went unanswered so far. We shall all have to wait until March 28th to get our hands on the punishingly addictive pleasure that will come from even more Dark Souls.
